Condolences

Condolence From: Fred Ringham
Condolence: Fred was a great mentor to me when I joined his audit team at the Public Service Commission. We travelled around the country on a special audit, and when we were delivering the results later at a national meeting the Toronto representative complained that there had not been a visit to his city. Our quick thinking director replied "There are only so many Freds to go around!"
Rest in Peace Fred

Condolence From: Eugene and Mary Lou Zywicki
Condolence: Susie, Jordan, Hart and families. Condolences from the whole Zywicki family on your loss. Upon hearing of his passing we reminisced about first meeting Fred way back when Jeff and Jordan played Novice hockey together, and the many good times we had together during the following years of hockey and lacrosse.

Condolence: Sorry to hear of your loss.

On Death (Kahlil Gibran)

You would know the secret of death.
But how shall you find it unless you seek it in the heart of life?
The owl whose night-bound eyes are blind unto the day cannot unveil the mystery of light.
If you would indeed behold the spirit of death, open your heart wide unto the body of life.
For life and death are one, even as the river and the sea are one.

In the depth of your hopes and desires lies your silent knowledge of the beyond;
And like seeds dreaming beneath the snow your heart dreams of spring.
Trust the dreams, for in them is hidden the gate to eternity.
Your fear of death is but the trembling of the shepherd when he stands before the king whose hand is to be laid upon him in honour.
Is the shepherd not joyful beneath his trembling, that he shall wear the mark of the king?
Yet is he not more mindful of his trembling?

For what is it to die but to stand naked in the wind and to melt into the sun?
And what is it to cease breathing, but to free the breath from its restless tides, that it may rise and expand and seek God unencumbered?

Only when you drink from the river of silence shall you indeed sing.
And when you have reached the mountain top, then you shall begin to climb.
And when the earth shall claim your limbs, then shall you truly dance.

Condolence: Susan and family, We are so sorry to hear the news of Fred's passing. I (Ruth) have always been grateful to Fred for providing me with the opportunity to move to the federal government where I enjoyed a wonderful 35 year career. I also enjoyed our times together, including our commutes to work. Barry and I recall the the joy of hockey stories and remember Fred's love of the cottage.
Our deepest sympathies to you and the family.

Condolence: Susan and family,

It saddened me to read about Fred's passing. I remember sharing bus rides with Fred from BBQHaven en route to work at NDHQ. He often would chat about hockey, as I believe it was Jordan's games. Of course we would run across him in personnel too; he was instrumental in getting Ruth over from the Provincial offices to us in the realty field. Our thoughts are with you all at this very difficult time.

Condolence From: Daniel "Danny" Webb
Condolence: My condolences to Susie and the boys, in the passing of the husband and father of the boys. I'm sorry that I never got to know Fred very well, and had only met him once or twice, but he was my cousin and the son of my uncle Rod and his wife Roxie, who I admired very much. I still have many memories of Norwood, as I had spent the summers there from 1939 to 1945. As the eldest grandchild, I was there for company for Grandma Webb, uncle Rod's mother, when her whole family was away during the war.
As most of the other grandchildren were not born until after the war, and with the distance between our homes, I did not have the pleasure of sharing our lives together.
