The Forgotten Wallet

I first met my future father-in-law, Don Clark,  in August 1976. On one occasion he and I were driving to Peterborough and he stopped at Brookside IGA, just east of Peterborough, to buy some meat. He got to the checkout only to discover he had forgotten his wallet at home.  I was browsing in the store and I saw him walking quickly towards me.  Greatly embarrassed he asked if I would happen to have that much cash he could borrow and luckily I had. I still remember how mortified that he, the Chair of the Peterborogh Board of Eduction and Plant Superintendent at 3M Canada, had  to borrow money from a lowly college kid living on a shoestring.
