A good friend

1965 Danforth Technical School, Don announced to us during our morning before school coffee that he was quitting school to become a plumber. Wow our reaction was quick "what - a plumber you're kidding". He wasn't kidding and he never looked back. Within a few years he was paying more in income tax than we were earning. Don was always a bit ahead of the rest of us when it came to planning and thinking ahead. He loved his career and travelled quite a bit to follow major construction projects across Canada. I posted a few pictures of our travels once to New York City and Expo 67 in Montreal. There is one picture of Don in Wasaga Beach our home away from home. Don and I drove to Vancouver in 1968 (I think) in his Cougar, now that was a car!! We were gone for almost 2 weeks and I noticed on our way home he seemed to be in a hurry. He then admitted he couldn’t wait to get home to see Ann. Don was in love.

He got married, I got married, he moved to Ajax then Hastings, I moved to Mississauga and we kind of lost track of each other. We have been in touch over the last 10 or so years. Still the same Don, happy, cheerful, pleasant to be around. He will be missed.
