Obituary for Wilhelm Peter Franken
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Wilhelm Peter Franken at Campbellford Hospital on January 31, at the age of 84. Predeceased by his wife, Joanne, of 46 years. Proud father to his only son, Trevor (Samantha), and grandfather to Bennett and Anna.
Born in Germany, Bill worked in the tool and die trade. In 1967, Bill emigrated to Canada, where he met the love of his life, Joanne, who was teaching his English language class. Bill graduated from teacher’s college and spent his career teaching secondary school math at De La Salle College in Toronto.
In retirement, Bill enjoyed many years in the Havelock area playing golf, painting, and gardening. As a snowbird, Bill had many wonderful friends and neighbours in Florida.
“Willy” has now gone to meet his loving Joanne. In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no service. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, friends are welcome to make a donation to SickKids Foundation.
