Obituary for Steven James Hornsby

With sadness and heavy hearts, the Hornsby family is announcing the passing of Steven James Hornsby on May 27, 2022, at the age of 61. Steve was the son of Marie and the late Jim Hornsby. He was a beloved husband to Linda, cherished father to Crystal (Owen) and Stacey (Jay) and treasured grandfather to Lexus, Avery and new baby to be. Brother to the late Theresa Seaboyer (Eric) and Kelly Harris (Bill). Brother-in-law to Patty Davies (Ron) and the late Marlene Marchment (Jim) and Tom. Steve was a dearest uncle, cousin and friend to many.

He leaves behind a piece of himself within everyone he knew. His kindness, empathy and generosity were felt by all. Steve was an avid hunter and loved watching his Saturday Hockey Nights in Canada. Steve’s professional career as an electrician for 43 years brought him much joy and he loved building relationships with those in his communities (Havelock & Cordova Mines). Steve’s ‘humble and kind’ and ‘pay it forward’ attitude has touched everyone who crossed his path.

After a 6-year battle with Alzheimer’s disease Steve will be laid peacefully to rest on Saturday June 4, 2022. Everyone is welcome to a graveside service at Maple Grove Cemetery, Havelock at 3:00pm. We ask everyone to join us in a celebration of life at the Havelock Community Centre following the service. We ask anyone wishing to place a donation's in Steve’s memory to be directed to the Kawartha Centre – Redefining Healthy Aging in Peterborough (Peterborough Memory Clinic). https://www.brettfuneralchapels.com/
