Leona Herrington 1922-2022
Wife of the late Jesse Anderson and Randle Vansickle. Cherished mother of Lynne Kloosterman (Albert) and Bill Anderson (Chrissy). Stepmother to the late Sandra Melville. Adored grandmother to Laura (Michel), Steven (Kenison), Sarah (Andrew), Jesse (Stacia), Crystal (Rick), Graham (Pamela), Jaclyn (Donald), Lori Caverly (Bob), and the late Tom Melville.
Treasured “GG” to many Great Grandchildren and Great-Great Grandchildren.
Peacefully at Lakefield Extendicare May 24, 2022 In her 100th year. Our deepest heartfelt thanks to the devoted caregivers who provided exceptional care and attention to Leona, and made her feel at home during her time there.
Leona’s first and foremost love was to her family; whether you knew her as a friend, a mom, a grandma, GG or Great GG, you were blessed to be familiar with her love of baking and cooking. She was a devout maker of squares, preserves and pies and used her gift to touch the lives of literally hundreds in times of joy and sorrow.
A lifelong attendee of St John’s Anglican Church in Havelock, Leona was a devout Christian who believed in the power of daily prayer.
Leona was also a keen NASCAR fan who enjoyed watching her afternoon “races”.
A graveside service will be held at MAPLE GROVE CEMETERY 9500 County Rd 30
