It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John Kowal on Tuesday June 13, 2023 in his 70th year, after a short battle with cancer (multiple myeloma). John was a long time resident of Hornby, Milton and recently Hastings ON.
Predeceased by his parents Rosa and Ted Kowal. Dear husband of Elizabeth (Van Altena). He will be forever missed by daughters Lisa (Curtis), Katharine and Emma (Matt). Sadly missed by brother Erik (Kim). Opa to grandkids Austin, River, Taylor and Keenan. Brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend. Fondly remembered and greatly missed by many members of his family in Germany, where he was born.
John was a long time volunteer with St. John’s Ambulance, Milton Chapter. He had numerous interests including scuba diving, underwater hockey, football (both American and EPL – Liverpool in particular) and motor racing (from F1 to anything with 4 wheels and an engine).
Cremation has taken place, arranged by Brett Funeral Chapel in Hastings, ON. If desired, memorial donations to The Canadian Cancer Society or Myeloma Canada would be appreciated by the family.
