McILMOYLE, JAMES DONALD “JIM”

It is with profound sadness that the family of James (Jim) Donald McIlmoyle announce his peaceful passing on February 6, 2023 at the age of 80 years, at home with his loving wife of 40 years JoAnne by his side. He will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved him. Jim was a loving and proud father and grandfather to Jamie (Susanne) and their children, Colleen (Clarke), Kaylee and Carla and great grandfather to Ellie and Rosie; Donnie and (Kelly) and their son Clayton; Teena (Tim) and their children Cherese and Garrett; Anna and Ray and their children Zackery and Britney. He will also be remembered by his previous wife MaryAnne Mathew. Jim will be dearly missed by his step children Julie (Kevin) and Julie's children Taylor and Brooke and Michael (Traci) and their children Emily, Lauren, Avery. He will be affectionately remembered by his siblings Marilyn (Don) McArthur; the late Eleanor (Terry) McLaughlin; Trevor (Lena) McIlmoyle; and Susie (Ross) King. Jim was also cherished as a dear brother in-law of the Griffith siblings; Connie (Ross), Holly (Chris), John and Virginia as well as countless friends. Many knew Jim from his time living and working in the Municipality of Trent Hills. He got his start in the field of roads construction at the early age of 16. He was bestowed a long service award by the Ontario Good Roads Association, in honour of his 50 years of dedicated service. Since early childhood, he was an avid outdoors-man and enjoyed fishing, hunting, trapping, snowmobiling and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion - Branch 103, Campbellford. Jim was known both on and off the ice, coaching his boys in Minor hockey and playing himself with the "Old Timers". Recently Jim was a proud and friendly volunteer at the Campbellford Hospital. Jim will be laid to rest with a private funeral service. A Celebration of Jim’s Life will take place at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 103, Campbellford on Sunday, March 5th, 2023 from 1:00-5:00 p.m. Donations may be made to The Bridge Hospice-Warkworth, or Campbellford Memorial Hospital.
