BEETTAM, Birgit (Bea) Lilian (nee Hansen)
Passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home in Hastings, Ontario at the age of 90 on Monday, November 7, 2022. Bea was born in Toronto on January 8, 1932 to Gudrun and Holger Hansen. Beloved wife of Bob (deceased), they were married on October 3, 1953. Loving mother to Lise Mace (and her husband Rob) and Bruce (and his wife Teri). Proud Granny to Jennifer & Michelle Mace and Mitchell & Brock Beettam, and great Granny to Emma. Sister to Nancy (deceased) and Carolyn Jopling. Bea and Bob built their retirement home on their beloved Eagle Lake in South River, Ontario. In July 2017 they moved to Island Park Retirement Residence in Campbellford, Ontario. In October 2020 Bea moved in with her daughter Lise and her family. She adored her grand dog Norman and her adored her too! Grateful that she was living with family when Bob passed on November 14, 2020. For most of her life, Bea was an avid cross-stitcher, oil painter, curler, oldest living lady water skier on Eagle Lake, loved playing badminton and card shark /dice player extraordinaire . As long as she had a good bridge game lined up all was right in her world! Bea had spent many happy final months attending the VON memory daycare program in Havelock Ontario. It brought her so much joy and laughter. Bea loved listening to music by Tom Jones and Neil Diamond. She knew the words by heart and would sing and maybe even dance along.. Cremation has taken place.
