Obituary for Bernard Francis John Bligdon

Bernard Francis John Bligdon
BLIGDON, Bernard Francis John – It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bernard Bligdon at Campbellford Memorial Hospital on Friday, July 13, 2018, in his 85th year. Beloved husband of Rita for 61 years and a much cherished father to Richard (Doreen), Teresa Toppin (Warren), Sharon Roope (Mark) and Beverly Parkinson (John). A devoted Poppa to Ashley, Michael, Dylan, Mariah, Mason, Cienna and the late Spenser. Great-grandfather to LeMar, Layanna, Liam and Mckinlee. Son of the late Frederick and Gertrude Bligdon of Bournemouth, England. Predeceased by siblings Kathleen Leeson (Lyle), Derek (Margaret), Bertha Creed, William (Nina) and Gwen Blanchette. He will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews in England, Canada and the U.S.A. Born on June 28, 1934, Bernard and his family immigrated to Canada in 1966 and had a full and varied life living in Smiths Falls, Peterborough and Hastings. Bernard found his niche later in life when he started his own business and was able to share and enjoy his love of meeting people. In keeping with Bernard’s wishes, a cremation will take place with a celebration of life at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Alzheimer Society would be greatly appreciated. Online condolences at www.brettfuneralchapels.com
